Engineered Airflow, Inside the Shoe
AAV™ is FeatherOneʼs core technology a hardware-based airflow system that redefines shoe ventilation from
passive breathability to active air movement powered by each step.
AAV™ uses the landing pressure and load changes created during walking as its source of movement.
Rather than waiting for heat and moisture to naturally escape through breathable materials, AAV™ is designed to guide walking energy into airflow inside the shoe.
As a result, the inside of the shoe becomes less of a static space and more of a dynamic comfort environment where air moves with the rhythm of each step.
How AAV™ Works
01. Step Energy : As you walk, your foot creates pressure against the ground. During landing and lift-off, repeated load changes are generated.
02. Pressure Conversion : This pressure is transferred into the internal structure, where it becomes energy for moving air not just absorbing impact.
03. Air Intake : As the foot moves, outside air is guided into the shoe through the AAV™ structure.
04. Inner Airflow : This airflow helps reduce the buildup of heat and moisture around the foot.
05. Air Release : At the same time, warm and humid air built up inside the shoe is guided outward.
Pressure, Guided Into Comfort
FeatherOneʼs internal air structure softly supports heel pressure and guides
that movement into airflow toward the forefoot. Cushioning and airflow are
not separate features they are naturally connected within one structure.
Proprietary AAV Structure
Designed to guide walking pressure into airflow inside the shoe.
Measured from Inside the Shoe
FeatherOne was tested by comparing temperature and humidity changes
inside the shoe during wear. Rather than focusing only on what is visible
from the outside, we measured the environment where the foot actually stays.
Controlled Comparison Test
Under the same comparison conditions, we measured
inner-shoe temperature and humidity against a reference shoe.
Based on controlled comparison test conditions. Results may vary depending on the wearer, walking pattern, socks, and environment.
A Material Refined by Nature and Time
FeatherOne reimagines a Hanji-inspired material for modern footwear.
Inspired by Hanji, a material that has endured for thousands of years, it carries a light yet strong fiber feel, a soft surface texture,
and a calm material quality that comes from nature and returns to nature.Today, Hanji is being reinterpreted as Hanji Leather, drawing attention in fashion and industrial design.
As an alternative material that can help address the ethical concerns of animal leather and the environmental burden of synthetic materials,
Hanji-based material brings together lightness, breathability, antibacterial and deodorizing properties, and practical performance for modern use.
FeatherOne did not choose Hanji-based material simply for its traditional origin. It was selected for the way it feels, wears, and completes the productʼs calm and refined expression.
Hanji : Traditional Korean handmade paper
Naturally Breathable
Its carefully designed surface structure adds natural breathability and helps keep the inside of the shoe
feeling more comfortable.
Lightweight Surface Feel
The Hanji-based upper adds a lightweight feel and soft surface texture,
completing FeatherOneʼs calm and refined look.
Responsible Material Choice
FeatherOne selects materials not only for comfort, but also with consideration for how the product is made and used.
Paper Mulberry : The Material of Hanji
Paper mulberry is the primary raw material used to make traditional Korean hanji. Its long, strong fibers provide exceptional durability and flexibility.
Thanks to its eco-friendly nature and superior fiber strength, it has been the essential material for producing traditional Korean hanji for centuries.
